Volunteers are a vital part of so many of our charities. In recent years the need for third-sector interventions have grown but our resources have dwindled. The Volunteer sector still seems to be working it’s way out of the covid-19 pandemic, we need to modernise to esure we are properly supporting a post-pandemic society.
Inclusive Volunteering creates volunteering programmes and offers support and guidance to ensure that your volunteering offer is accessible, equitable and inclusive. What sets us apart from other consultancies is our understanding of trauma-informed practice in volunteering. We understand that a large portion of our volunteers come to us with lived-experience and are at risk of re-traumatisation through their volunteering and may struggle to find roles that support their needs.
We believe that everyone has unique strengths to offer and that inclusive volunteerism not only enriches the lives of participants but also strengthens communities. We know that you know your organisations, volunteers and beneficiaries better than anyone so we work with you to understand your community and create systems that specifically support your volunteers while broadening your audience.
An accessibility audit is a detailed evaluation aimed at identifying and addressing accessibility issues within your volunteering programme, including your website, application, onboarding and management processes. The primary goal is to ensure that these properties are usable by people with disabilities, lived experience of trauma and different backgrounds.
Policy writing and review are essential processes in any organisation to ensure that procedures, guidelines, and rules are clearly defined, effective, and up-to-date. You’ll be reviewing and writing your own policies as part of your business as usual practice. Our consultancy can review the policies you have already written to ensure they are inclusive and align with trauma-informed best practice. We can also advise on and write new policies for your volunteering programme or EDIU within your organisation.
Similarly to our policy review service we can review your training and provide advice on how to ensure your training is accessible to all learning styles and needs and take into consideration cultural inclusion and trauma-informed practice. We can also work with you to create original training to teach your volunteers or staff about trauma-informed practice, anti-oppression and inclusion.
In addition to this consultancy service we also provide a series of training sessions which can be found on our training page.
Having created and developed volunteer strategy for a number of organisations including the London Fire Brigade and The Kids Network we can work with you to create a full scale volunteering strategy including growth and development of your volunteer programme with inclusion and trauma-informed practice running throughout to ensure that EDIU is the core pillar of your volunteer experience.
Join us in making a difference that truly counts.
With Inclusive Volunteering, together we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, belong, and thrive.
